Complaint Background:
I have again had enough of Barclays. I accidently left them as my second funding for my Paypal and some charges bounced from the Nationwide who rightly didn't pay and didn't charge me, to Barclays who Did pay and Did charge me!I have complained once a while ago, you can find details if you google "Matt Tones Barclays" and once a few weeks ago when they charged me. They have done it again and i've had enough. I previously asked them for 6 months money, some £400 but now i want the last 6 YEARS! i sent them the letter below and will let you know what they say!!!
Dear Barclays,
Following yet more charges you have leveled for Paid referral fees I am writing to complain and to demand the repayment of the last Six years of penalties I have been charged by yourselves.
I do not dispute that it is my responsibility to keep my account in good standing but I totally object to the grossly disproportionate charges that have been accrued against my accounts over the last six years.
I have already lodged two formal complaints with you on this subject and understand that the fees I have previously made complaints about in these two instances are not repeated in this one.
I Am happy to pay you the actual cost to yourselves of the paid/Unpaid referral fees, which I am reliably informed is in the region of £3.20 per individual £25 or £30 charge. But, I am demanding the refund of the remainder of the monies I have paid to you over the last six years.
I am well aware of the legal implications around making this demand and as a former employee of Which? and as a voracious consumer rights campaigner appearing in national newspapers and magazines as well as on BBC TV, I am willing to take this case as far as I need to so I get my money returned.
I have requested my last six years bank statements from one of your customer services agents but am informed that this will take up to 40 days to arrive. I am not prepared to wait one more day to resolve this matter and if you do not respond in 14 days I will begin legal action against you.
I will be emailing this complaint as well as sending you a paper copy to ensure that you receive it.
Yours faithfully
Matt Tones
