I used an overseas dressmaking service, who promised to provide a made to measure gown. Stupidly, I decided to let them make me an evening gown which was required urgently. Gave them my exact measurments and paid extra for speedy delivery. I was so angry when the dress arrived, it was 5" inches to small on the hips!. E-mailed them to tell them of their error (unable to call direct as they are not contactable by phone). They maintain the garment was measured before despatching and they cannot be held responsible. My response read : it was impossible that I would of made a mistake of the measurement being 5" too small. All to no avail, their only suggestion was to take it to a local dressmaker and see what they can do. Not even an apology from them or any offer to partly compensate for having to pay even more to have the dress altered.
