Complaint Background:
The Nightmare of Online Banking

Ok then, Online Banking is supposed to be convienient safe and easy to use and for those people who work 9-5 is the way forward to do necessary bank transactions without the need to visit your local branch, Well all i can say to that is Bollocks, I have spent the last 4 hours trying to process one (yes one transaction ) Every time i think i have logged on typed in my password and entered the correct data it would take an age to find the secure page, due to the time it took i would be logged out. After several frustrating times trying to log on enough was enough, i called the online banking team to find out if there was an issue with the site, just to be told no that " the site is working fine " what planet are they on, 4 hours to make a payment to someone, w*****s, i could of travelled 200 miles away and handed the person cash, So much for the efficient time saving use of online banking

I use nationwide online banking and I must say that I'm impressed with it. It's nicely laid out easy to use and havn't had any problems yet (touch wood) I also use HSBC I don't think that works quite as well!
HSBC's online service is such a joke, i agree with Eduardo. It is practically impossible to make any change to your business account online.

And here's the best bit as an example. I wanted to increase my daily payment allowance so I could pay more invoices in a day(I have the money in my account anyway, what business is it of theirs how much of it I decide to pay out on any one day).

So I try to make a payment and it says i've exceeded my daily limit. So I call them and get through to Mr Gerald Patel who informs me that I can make the payment over the phone but not online!!!!!!!!!!

Like a phone call to India is more secure that my encrypted bloody online account....

So I say fine, but how do i increase my limit as i'm on the site now. He says I have to DOWNLOAD a PDF request form, print it out, fill it in and send it to HSBC.

I don't get it, just don't get it!
I've used HSBC Online (both personal & business) and Cahoot.

all I can say is.... (same as Mervin!)

I asked my bank, HSBC, for the last years worth of statements, as I could not get them online... for some reason, i could only get three months. They had to post them to me on paper. Not very green (which is their current self stroking campaign) - i asked them about this through their online Q&A system.. I didn't get an answer back online though.... they posted it to me!

idiots.
Surprise Surprise it was Barclays
Come on name them - that's what this site's all about. I think some of the new banks Smile and First Direct services are much better - I bet it was Nat West or Barclays? Please reveal...
