Just over 7 years ago we moved into a house on the Persimmon Driffield site and all the windows were made for this development by Vulcan Windows.. Made is a bit of an over rated comment.
Get me wrong but aren't Double Glazed windows supposed to keep noise out and heat in, well the windows that were thrown into these houses DO NOT do either of these, in fact the other day I was stood right outside the kitchen window and was having a full blown low key conversation with my wife, plus with ALL the windows and doors closed, we can actually hear children playing in the next cul de sac and at the top end of our street, which is about 75/100 feet long..
In places the windows have an inch of sealant around them to keep them in and supposedly the cold out... yeah right, the glass doesn't even fit the frames in some of them properly. They were supposedly (again) fitted to a profile made by Persimmon but a vast majority of the development site are fitted like this..
After only seven (7) years, the windows (not to mention the patio doors, i wont go there as I haven't enough time) go a manky colour, and this IS NOT because they are not cleaned, as they are on a regular basis.
God only knows why windows are made in bulk demand, because they are cheap and nasty... If I had the money to replace this load of rubbish, then I would have done so the first day after moving in, after we had the intensive talks with the Managing Director of Vulcan at the time.

I had to rate this to post it but believe me, they aren't even worth the one star.
